Student Support

Here at the Asian International Japanese Language School, we strive for our students' success. We have many systems in place so that we can confidently help you settle in to your life in Japan, and anything you may need during your stay and after graduation.

Orientation

During your orientation, we will discuss not only your academic path and studies, but also prepare you for daily life in Japan. We support you with procedures at city hall, the post office, getting a bank account, immigration, cell phones and house utilities.

Studying a language isn't just about learning the words, we will also teach you about cultural norms, etiquette, society standards and share experienced insights on how to and where to enjoy your life in Japan!

Accommodation

We provide affordable, subsidised accommodation for our students. Moving to a new country isn't always easy, there's a lot of challenges to face and that's why we're there to offer options and help you get settled in.

Private Lodging

Shared accommodation

There's no better way to get to know your peers and build instant friendships, and share study insights than sharing a dorm. We have an affiliated dormitory where 2-4 students share a room. Each room is fully furnished which allows our students to start living in their new home from the moment of arrival. You can expect to pay between 20,000 to 30,000 JPY per month, plus entrance and utility fees.

Private lodging

If you're a person who enjoys their own space we will help you to find somewhere for you to make home for your time here. Get away from the crowds and study in your own time.

Homestay

Dive right in to a Japanese lifestyle and stay with one of our trusted Japanese families who will open their homes to you and give you a true cultural experience.

Facilities and equipment.

We have two classrooms seating up to 20 students each, a library, a cafeteria, a study room, and a school infirmary. The library and  study room can be used freely during school hours. Classrooms are equipped with projectors  and high-quality lessons are conducted using ICT. Teachers and staff are always available in  the office, so feel free to drop in if you have any questions or need advice.

Life in Kansai

We are located just 40 minutes either side of the beautiful Kyoto and the bustling Osaka City.

And just a short trip from Kobe, Nara and the beautiful Biwako Valley.

AIJLS is based in Yawata City, a small but calm and safe town surrounded by nature, and conveniently located within the immediate vicinity of supermarkets, shopping outlets, convenience stores, and drugstores, making it an easy place to live.

Immerse yourself in the traditions and cuisine in Japans cultural and historical capitals. Dress in a kimono and watch the geisha in Kyoto, bathe in the sun at Lake Biwa, frolic with the deer in Nara, eat Kobe beef in Kobe, party hard in Osaka's bustling nightlife district, and shop anywhere you can imagine.

Work in Japan.

Work activities are not permitted automatically under a Japanese Student Visa, although if you are expecting or wanting to work it is possible to apply for and receive permission to work for up to 28 hours per week. Many restaurants and factories in the area are happy to hire foreigners, it will also give you a great opportunity to speak Japanese with locals, and make friends in the local area.
